My background

I am a German native speaker who was born and raised in Germany. Language has been my passion for as long as I can remember and foreign languages and cultures have always played a large role in my life. Pursuing a language-related career was the only logical choice for me. After I graduated from Leipzig University, Germany, with a Master's Degree in Translation in 2004, I moved to the United States, where I have been working as a linguist service provider on a freelance basis - happy to be doing what I love most.

My studies allowed me to choose Computer Science as a second major and to take a variety of classes on technical subjects, which gave me the valuable specialized knowledge I use today when working for clients all over the world. Translating texts from many different fields has been helping me gain an understanding for even more topics.

I also have about 6 years of experience teaching foreign languages in many different settings. My experiences range from private tutoring of high school students to teaching Business English in small groups in a large international company. Often I gathered and created my own teaching material and adapted it to the individual student or class and level of language proficiency.
